The Buildings Behind the Music

For K-pop fans, the highlight of a Seoul trip isn't just the concert venue. It's standing in front of the building where your favorite artist shows up every day — the practice rooms, the studios, the place where the music is made. Agency headquarters have become a destination in their own right: an offline platform where fans confirm their identity and connect with the world through a single photo.

HYBE

Address: 42 Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (Yongsan Trade Center)
Subway: Sinyongsan Station (Line 4), Exit 5 — 5 min walk

Home to BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, and LE SSERAFIM, HYBE draws multiple fandoms to the same block. The surrounding alley known as Yongni-dan-gil has grown into a full K-pop fan street — photocard trading shops, fan cafes, and merch stores line the area. The building is closed to the public, but the plaza and street outside serve as a natural gathering point.

SM Entertainment

Address: 83-21 Wangsimni-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Acro Seoul Forest D Tower)
Subway: Seoul Forest Station (Bundang Line), Exit 5

Base of aespa, NCT, and RIIZE. The building sits directly next to Seoul Forest park, making it easy to combine with a broader Seongsu-dong visit. An SM Store inside the building sells albums and artist merchandise — one of the few Big 4 HQs where fans can make a purchase on-site.

YG Entertainment

Address: 7 Huiujeong-ro 1-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul (Hapjeong-dong)
Subway: Hapjeong Station (Lines 2 & 6), approx. 10 min walk

Home of BLACKPINK and BABYMONSTER. The 2020 building was designed by Dutch architecture firm UNStudio and is a visual landmark in the Hapjeong area. Access is restricted — visits center around exterior observation. The old HQ next door is connected by an above-ground bridge.

JYP Entertainment

Address: 205 Gangdong-daero, Gangdong-gu, Seoul (JYP Center, Seongnae-dong)
Subway: Gangdong Station (Line 5), nearby

JYP relocated from Cheongdam-dong in 2018. The current building hosts Stray Kids, TWICE, ITZY, and NMIXX. A café called Soul Cup inside is accessible to outside visitors. The location is close to Olympic Park, making it easy to combine with concert visits.

⚠ Note: The old Cheongdam-dong address was sold in 2018 and is no longer JYP's location.

Cube Entertainment

Address: 83 Achasan-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul — F2 Building, 7F
Subway: Seongsu Station (Line 2), 2 min walk

Home of (G)I-DLE. Sits in the same Seongsu-dong zone as SM Entertainment — the two can be combined into a single Seongsu K-pop route on foot.

Starship Entertainment

Address: 4-5 Samseong-ro 146-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Subway: Samsung Station (Lines 2 & 9), nearby

Home of IVE. Located near COEX, easy to pair with shopping or dining in the Gangnam area. International fan visits have increased alongside IVE's global profile.

KQ Entertainment

Address: 3 Worldcupbuk-ro 6-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul (Yeonnam-dong, Innovase Building)
Subway: Hongdae Station (Lines 2 & Gyeongui-Jungang), nearby

Home of ATEEZ and xikers. The location sits within the Hongdae–Yeonnam-dong area, one of Seoul's most active districts for cafes, pop-ups, and street culture. No dedicated fan facilities on-site.

Tips for International Fans

Plan your route. Two practical lines work well. Line A — Yongsan (HYBE) to Hapjeong (YG) — takes about 30 minutes by transit. Line B — Seongsu (SM + Cube) to Gangnam (Starship) to Gangdong (JYP) — fits into a half-day. Hongdae (KQ) to Hapjeong (YG) is also walkable within Mapo-gu.

Respect the workspace. These are active office buildings. Do not block entrances, follow artists, or photograph inside without permission. Considerate visits are what keep these spaces accessible.

Check birthday cafes. Before visiting, search X (formerly Twitter) or Weverse for fan-run events near each HQ. Fan birthday cafes often offer themed drinks, photo displays, and free gifts — and frequently deliver a deeper experience than the building exterior alone.

Why It Matters

A K-pop HQ tour has moved past sightseeing. It's documentation now. One photo taken outside a building travels through TikTok and Instagram until the architecture itself becomes part of the artist's brand. These agency buildings are K-pop's visible infrastructure — the physical layer beneath the music. Your next stop is already on the map.
